Our Story
Level 10 Constructions began in 2019, when two strangers met while working for another builder — and quickly became close mates. What started as an easy working relationship soon turned into a genuine partnership, with both managing projects side by side. After plenty of late-night conversations (and even more hesitation), they decided to take the plunge and go out on their own. From supervising sites to picking the tools back up, they kicked things off with a small pet grooming shop in Pymble (thanks July, for taking a chance on us!) before moving on to their first pool and deck in Ermington.
As they kept building, they kept hearing the same stories — clients struggling to find a builder who would just listen, follow through, and take genuine care in the work. That hit home. What made Vu and James different was something simple: open communication, steady hands, and a real commitment to doing the job properly. No flashy promises, just clear updates, honest advice, and a drive to make every project feel effortless for the client. It’s what built the business — and still does. Nearly every project since has come through word of mouth.
On-site, Vu brings serious grit. He’s known for pulling off projects under impossible deadlines, managing multiple crews at once, and understanding every trade from experience — literally. He spent years staying late, unpaid, just to learn how each trade worked. (Just don’t ask him to sit in front of a computer for more than two minutes — he’ll vanish.) Off-site, James complements this with deep planning knowledge, clear documentation, sharp pricing insight, and a knack for helping clients understand exactly what they’re getting — before the first tool hits the site.
From two mates to a small but mighty team of eight (shoutout to Keith, our first full-time carpenter for jumping in early), Level 10 has grown with intention — one solid job and one good relationship at a time.

James Zhang
James is the calm, clear thinker behind the systems and structure at Level 10 Constructions. With over a decade in the industry, he brings together hands-on experience, technical knowledge, and a steady focus on doing things properly — from the first call to final handover.
Starting on the tools as a labourer before moving into residential construction, where he specialised in first-floor additions and extensions. From there, he gained experience in mixed-use commercial and residential projects, learning how to manage everything from complex planning approvals to high-detail fitouts
More than anything, James believes in building with clarity and care.
That means honest conversations, thoughtful planning, and making sure every client feels looked after — not just at the start, but all the way through.
Vu Duong
Vu brings a rare kind of experience to the job site — the kind that comes from years of doing the work yourself, trade by trade, until you know exactly how things should be done. Vu oversees every project from the ground up, keeping things moving smoothly while making sure the quality never slips.
Starting out as a labourer, learning quickly and staying late to watch and help with every trade on site — not because he had to, but because he wanted to know how to do it right. That curiosity and determination became his edge. Over time, he developed a reputation for solving problems quickly, coordinating teams with precision, and delivering on even the toughest timelines.
At Level 10, Vu leads all site operations, managing trades, schedules, and client expectations with a steady, no-drama approach. He’s not one for long meetings or fancy presentations — but on site, he’s across every detail, setting the pace and keeping the standard high.
He’s the one making sure the job gets done — properly, efficiently, and with the kind of care that clients remember long after the tools are packed away.
